How to differentiate Micro filtration, Ultra filtration & Nano filtration?
As it comes to the purification of water and its proper treatment so that it can be further taken into use and also can be taken into reuse if it is the water coming out of the various types of factories and the industries, in today’s scenario with the increase in the pollution levels in every aspect of the atmosphere and the environment it has become important to at least maintain certain basics and essentials in their purest form. Water is one such essential and the only way out to keep the quality of the water maintained is through the process of filtration.
Getting into the deeper
aspects of the process of water filtration we can say that there is a lot of
information that should be known to the user as only then the user will be able
to get the process of water filtration done in the right manner and as it is
all related to the process of water purification and treatment it is very much
essential to have the conduct of filtration done properly.
But observing all the
information regarding a deep process of filtration is not that easy and people
are often seen getting confused as it comes to the process of water filtration,
it is not just all about the workings of the wastewater treatment plant there
is much more associated with it so here we will see information regarding all
the three different types of filtration those are Micro filtration, Ultra
filtration, and Nano filtration.
Talking regarding the
Microfiltration process we can say that in this the suspended solids are thrown
out of the water physically with the help of a membrane. The only elements that
can be removed through this technique are bacteria and the suspended solids it
is so because of the pore size of the filters those are used in the technique.
This technique for the
filtration of the water is generally known to be more taken into use in the
workings of an Ultra filtration plant while the plant works
on getting the water treated and purified.
Further talking regarding
the process of ultra filtration for the treatment and purification of water we
can say that the technique of ultra filtration removes everything that is
removed through Micro filtration but along with that it also works on removal
of many other unwanted elements as well such as the viruses for the removal of
viruses we would need higher pressure that is why if the water contains viruses
then for its purification one should stick to the ultra filtration technique.
Further Talking regarding
the Nano filtration we can say that in this technique of getting the water
treated and filtered the membrane that is used is known for removal of the
50-90% ions mainly the type of ions that are removed are chlorides or sodium.
The filters that are used in this process are mostly similar to the filters
that are used in the technique of reverse osmosis while it is used for the
treatment and purification of the water.
Further, as we move to the
conclusion of this whole discussion we can say that all these techniques and
these plants are used for the same work but the difference between them lies in
the fact that they work on the removal of different types of elements from the
water another major difference between these comes from the pore size of the
semi-permeable membranes.
In some cases, it is also seen that all these techniques are combined into one and the plant or the machinery is thus given a customized design as per the requirement of the quality of the water that has to be treated and purified. As and when a person feels the need for the use of a water purification plant or technique then the person should go to the experienced professional for proper guidance.
